Registered voters in Madison County, Kentucky, may participate in the 2026 General Election through Early Voting, Election Day voting, or Absentee voting, depending on eligibility. Details on voting options, locations, deadlines, and additional election resources are provided below.

Are You Registered to Vote?

The deadline to register to vote or update your voter registration information is October 5, 2026, at 4 PM. To register to vote or update your voter registration:

• Visit govote.ky.gov ↗ to register, review, and/or update your information online.

• Visit the Clerk’s Office in Richmond (321 N. Madison Ave.) or Berea (304 Chestnut St.).

Turning 18 Soon or Attending College?

Kentucky residents who are 17 may register to vote if they will be 18 by the General Election. College students may register using their home or college address, based on where they consider their voting residence.

Absentee Voting

Absentee voting is available to voters who meet eligibility requirements and have a qualifying excuse. Eligible voters may vote in person or by requesting a mail-in ballot.

Excused in-person absentee voting will be held at the Richmond Branch of the Madison County Clerk's Office, located at 321 North Madison Ave., from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM on the following dates:

Mail-In Absentee Voting

Voters requesting a mail-in absentee ballot may apply online at govote.ky.gov. The online request portal will close on October 20, 2026, at 11: 59 PM. Voters may return their ballot by mail or via the ballot drop box, located at both branches during normal business hours.

Registered Madison County voters may vote at any polling location during Early Voting or on Election Day. No excuse is needed.
