The Madison County Clerk is responsible for conducting all Special, Primary, and General Elections within Madison County. In addition, the Clerk's Office maintains all voter registration information and is responsible for making sure all election laws set forth by Kentucky Revised Statues are upheld. Important Election Dates to Remember
November 5, 2025
December 31, 2025 @ 11:59 PM
Last day to change your political party affiliation and remain eligible to vote in the 2026 primary election.
Update your registration in-person at the clerk's office or online at govote.ky.gov.
January 9, 2026 @ 4:00 PM
Candidate Filing Deadline
Candidates must file nomination papers to run for office. Those required to run in a primary must also file a statement of candidacy for the same office where nomination papers are filed.

Online mail-in absentee request portal to open (45 days before the election).
Last day to register to vote for the 2026 primary election:
