Expanded Eligibility for Online Registration Renewals in Kentucky

Kentucky’s online vehicle registration renewal system has expanded, allowing more customers to renew their registrations without visiting the County Clerk’s Office.
What Has Changed?
Beginning July 30, the following registration renewals may be completed online:
Customers with one delinquent registration may renew online and pay the delinquency with the current renewal.
Vehicle registrations that have expired for less than one year may be renewed online.
Boat registrations that have expired for up to 20 months may be renewed online.
Eligible trailers and motor homes may now be renewed online.
What You’ll Need
Vehicles
Title number and plate number
You can find both numbers on your vehicle registration.
Boats
Title number and KY number
You can find both numbers on your boat renewal notice or registration materials. Enter the complete KY number, including “KY,” without dashes.
Payment
Credit card
Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express are accepted.
Allow Time for Processing
Online renewals are not complete until the County Clerk’s Office processes the transaction on the following business day. Then, it will be mailed to the address on file.
Check Your Address Before Renewing
Your registration materials will be mailed to the address listed on your registration receipt.
If your address is incorrect or outdated, contact the Madison County Clerk’s Office to update it before renewing online.
